Silk Bow Ties – just listed

I’ve just listed 7 new silk bow ties. Please check them out on my online store. Half of them were made from old neck ties and half of them are from a generous gentleman who found the fabric for me.

Coming On Thursday

Here are 4 more of the fun bow ties I have coming for my store update up on Thursday May 13th.  I’m especially excited about The Patrick, made from a combination of two of my favorite madras fabrics into a very Irish-looking reversible bow tie.  Also note: The Caleb patch madras is a unique item and there will only be 8 of these available.  I’ve got some other madras tricks up my sleeve, too.
Check back tomorrow for a sneak preview of my silk offerings.

Bow Ties for A Wedding

Check out these wedding photos.  This incredibly creative couple in Rock Hill, SC opted for each gent in the wedding party to be outfitted with a unique bow tie from The Cordial Churchman.  They were giddy with excitement when they came over to my sweatshop studio and picked through my inventory of fabrics until they found the nine they wanted.  Perhaps my favorite of the batch is on the groom, who wore a bow tie made with gray and ivory raw silk.  It looked really cool.

There’s a lesson to be learnt in all of this:  By no means does a wedding party have to be slavishly matchy-matchy.  Hold down the fort with some solid colors, and then let ‘er rip when it comes to the neckwear.

Thanks to Brian Powell of Project: Life Photography for sharing these proofs.  If you’re in the Carolinas and need a photographer, you’ve got your man.  I also hear the dude can keep bad guys out of your corporate offices with the best of them, if you need that sort of thing.

PS–Brian: We hereby award you a free bow tie of your choice.

Store Update May 13 – More Seersucker, Gingham and Madras Bow Ties

Well, I’ve been sewing like crazy and I even have  a very wonderful helper  who has been sewing away as well.  There are many weddings this month that will be donning the Cordial Churchman bow ties and we’ve been having so much fun with the summer fabrics.  I’ve also been collecting some great gingham, madras, and seersucker fabrics to sew with.  Here are some photos of some of the new fabrics I’ve been working with.  I’m going to update my online store on May 13th (one week from today) with quite a few new fabric choices for you.  Here is a sneek peek at what’s coming.  I’m also working on a very special surprise project that I think people will like quite a bit.  More on that soon!

Tell me what you think of these new fabrics, won’t you?

And this is the point at which our modeling session had to end because of a very cute but sad little person who wanted some attention.
