Ellie,
I don’t know if Andy showed you the photo of that amazing seersucker patch bow you made me but I’ll be sure to send it to your e-mail.
Apparently the Thank You card I asked my younger brother to mail after receiving the tie was buried under some things on his desk. I’ll send that out when I get home tonight.
Do you still have a bow available in that #1 madras as shown above?
Thanks.
All the best,
Jason
P.S. it’s nice to see that you’re getting some publicity on these.

What is the max neck size on your bows? I assume you can accomodate larger (18.5) sizes in special order, but I am curious about your pre-made bows.
Thank you.

The Bow ties that I make fit up to size 19.5 neck. I am happy to make them longer to give you some extra wiggle room as well.

Thanks Eddie! Send them my way, you won’t believe how nice an ugly tie can look as a bow tie! I love repurposing old ties because it takes something that was once totally unloved and turns it into a special item for the gentleman that have them made.

Ellie –
Just received the patchwork madras bowtie I bought off ebay today – fantastic! That brought me to your site and I really like your stuff. I’m especially intrigued by your conversions – that is what is next for me.
Best of luck, but don’t get “too big”… the handmade touch is evident.
Thanks again,
Evan Kurtz

Dear Ellie,
Today, I received the bow ties that I ordered from you. After tying them on, I’m glad to say that the conversions are great and the ones that were handmade-from-scratch are distinguished by a good cut, a good hand, and their distinctive designs. What’s more, the handmade touch is still evident in the best ways—the work of a modern day artisan. When people inquire in the future, I’ll point them to you.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Bright

P.S. I’ll contact you soon about perhaps converting one of my father’s old neckties. It’s thin-ish and has a tiny scorch-mark at the bottom near the triangle tip. Let’s see what can be done.

Do you make pocket squares in all of the same materials?
August 26, 2009 at 2:33 pm
Robert,
I can only make squares in a limited amount of these fabrics. Please e-mail me with a specific request and I’ll try to accommodate you.
Thanks,
Ellie

Hi Ellie,
Very excited to have stumbled upon you! I would like to order some of your bow-ties, and I also have a few ties I’d like to send in. I would also like to see if you can take suiting that the moths have gotten to and make ties from them? I would also like to get a couple of denim ties made… possible? I can supply some weathered denim. Please advise, and feel free to call me at 202.439.7686.
I also write a men’s column for the Examiner.com and can give you some publicity.
Thanks,
Michael

I wear bowties exclusively (except for one hand marbled tie that my wife loves) because one cannot be strangled with a bow tie. I have long ties I do not wear that I am thinking about converting to
bows. To what address would I send them?

Hi Andrew,
In case Ellie hasn’t responded to your query, see the FAQ page: http://ellielaveer.wordpress.com/faqs/
That’ll get you started. I’m sure she’d love to convert your stash of neckties.
Cheers,
Andy

I heard about you through a friend of yours. What a fabulous website! I’m getting married in 2 1/2 months. If you were to make ties for a wedding, how much fabric would you need per tie? And what is the preferred timeline of doing such a thing?

Hi,
Came across your website. I love wearing bowties. If I order some, how do I pay you?
I’m in Canada.
